The Romans way of worshippingEarly forms of the Roman religion believed that spirits inhabited everything around them, including people. Rome’s first citizens also believed they were watched over by the spirits of their ancestors. The Roman gods and the spirits, were worshipped at a temple on Capitoline Hill. There were temples honouring the gods built across the empire. Because of the Greek colonies on the Lower Peninsula, the Romans adopted many of the Greek gods. Because of Greek’s influence the Roman gods became to have human traits- jealousy, love, hate, etc. Their religion had very strict rules and an individual’s opinion was not considered important.
